Myrtle Beach's Summer Heats Up with Sun Fun Festival

The Sun Fun Festival serves as a summertime kickoff for South Carolina’s Grand Strand and a beginning of the Sun Fun Summer of Celebration which runs during the summer from June through September in Myrtle Beach. The Sun Fun Festival includes four days of live entertainment, air shows, professional sand sculpture contest, parade, pageants, sporting events, kids fair, and much, much more. The Sun Fun Festival is scheduled for June 5-June 9.

June 5 - Live Entertainment and Food Vendors. Too Much Sylvia will be performing a free concert in Grand Park at 7 pm. Food vendors start at 5 pm.

June 5-7 - H2X Racing’s 2009 TourSponsored by Sea-Doo, Res-Q Energy Drink and WizzardX Media. On the ocean, between Damon’s Grill and Springmaid Beach Resort. Fri: 1-5 pm, Sat/Sun: 10 am - 6 pm. (Free for spectators)

June 6 - 2010 Miss Sun Fun and Miss Sun Fun Teen Pageant. Myrtle Beach High School, 7 pm. Admission $15.

June 6 - Celebrity Meet-and-Greets (Free)Blake Lewis of American Idol (season 6 runner-up) will perform live in Grand Park. Celebrity meet-and-greets: Blake Lewis (2-5 pm), Jason Earles of Hannah Montana (11:30 am - 2:30 pm) and Robert Newman of Guiding Light (10:30 am - 1:30 pm).

June 6 – Lifehouse Concert (Free)Bring a chair or blanket (no coolers). 7 pm in Grand Park.

June 6 - Sun Fun Beach Run5K run/walk at 8:30 am and a 1-mile fun run at 9:00 am.

June 6 - 14th Annual Corvette Car Show at Broadway at the Beach Parking lot, next to the Hard Rock Cafe. 10 am - 2 pm.

June 6 - Sun Fun Festival Fireworks Extravaganza (Free) after the Lifehouse concert. 9 pm.
