Brookgreen Gardens Myrtle Beach Hosts Nights of a Thousand Candles

Brookgreen Gardens is the world’s largest sculpture gardens. This December, they will host Nights of a Thousand Candles on December 4, 5, 11, 12, 17, & 19, 2009, from 3pm – 10pm. Recently, this annual event was named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeastern Tourism Society.

Nights of a Thousand Candles features thousands of lights twinkling along the garden paths and trees as well as live holiday performances. Myrtle Beach visitors and locals alike flock to this event. Guests stroll through the gardens and view beautiful lighting displays along with hand-lit candles that illuminate garden paths. During their stroll, visitors will find musicians performing and carolers singing. A dinner is also available, catered by Inlet Affairs.

Tickets for this event must be purchased directly through Brookgreen Gardens. Tickets purchased now through November 30 are $12 for adults and $6 for children. Tickets purchased in December are $15 for adults and $6 for children.

Entertainment Schedule for Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens – All Seven Evenings:

- The Main Entertainment Tent will feature Bill Oberst Jr. as Scrooge in his one-man rendition of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at 7:30pm.
- Ron Daise will perform The Christmas Story in the Gullah Language and perform songs as well. - Vocal Edition, a choral ensemble, will sing holiday classics each night of the event.
- Sue Tanner will play a hammered dulcimer in the Live Oak Allee.

Each night of the event will also feature additional performances, including performances by the Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church, Peggy Leonard, Quiana Parler, the Market Street Brass and Jonathan Britt.
