Dates Announced for 2010 Myrtle Beach Festivals

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2010 dates for three of its premier festivals – the Sun Fun Festival, Canadian-American Days and Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival. All three of these festivals are free, family friendly events that add to the fun found in Myrtle Beach.

The 49th annual Canadian-American Days is scheduled for March 13-21, 2010, throughout the Myrtle Beach area. The seven-day festival will feature events, activities, and discounts, including welcome receptions, military band concerts, athletic tournaments and wildlife and history days. The Canadian-American Days Festival is regarded as the first international festival organized in South Carolina. It was introduced in 1961, and attracts about 100,000 Canadian visitors and snowbirds from the Northern States.

The 59th annual Sun Fun Festival is scheduled for June 4-5, 2010, throughout the Myrtle Beach area. The majority of the events will take place at Grand Park, located across from The Market Common. The festival will feature live entertainment, a Kids Zone, food and arts/crafts vendors, water sports and much more. The Sun Fun Festival began in 1951 and attracts approximately 40,000 attendees.

The 5th annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival is scheduled for September 3-4, 2010 at Grand Park across from The Market Common. This Labor Day Weekend festival will feature the official barbecue competition of South Carolina, a 200+ car show and live entertainment, among other events.
