Myrtle Beach Set to Host World Soccer Tour in August

Myrtle Beach is set to host the World Soccer Tour in August of 2010. The World Soccer Tour is one of the nation’s largest three-on-three soccer tours. This national championship is for players of all ages and abilities. The event will be located at Grand Park in Myrtle Beach and is scheduled for August 6-8, 2010.

Myrtle Beach officials are excited to host this event as thousands of athletes and spectators are expected to flock to the city from throughout the country. The city was picked as an ideal location for the tour as it is a family destination that will provide attendees plenty of things to do in Myrtle Beach when they aren’t on the soccer field. Between Myrtle Beach attractions, Myrtle Beach shows and the fabulous beaches in Myrtle Beach, visitors won’t be disappointed.

All teams participating in the World Soccer Tour’s World Cup Championship must qualify at one of the 50 local qualifying tournaments held throughout the country. The tour will stop in 27 states from December 2009 to July 2010. The top three teams in each age/skill division will be eligible to register for the 2010 World Cup to face off against the nation’s best 3v3 soccer teams.
