Myrtle Beach Events Scheduled for Spring

There are a lot of events scheduled in Myrtle Beach during the months of February and March. From kid friendly festivals to delicious restaurant tastings, there is a little bit of everything for Myrtle Beach visitors to enjoy.

On February 20th, 2010, Broadway at the Beach is hosting the 9th Annual KidzTime Kids Festival from 11am-6pm. It will feature interactive activities, a petting zoo, live performances and kid-friendly demonstrations. A few of the live performances include Christian Tae Kwon Do, Alli Anderson and Coastal Vibe All Star Cheerleaders. Golf, tennis, boating and cooking themed kid-friendly demonstrations will be available, and the Discovery Channel & Animal Planet will bring Scooby & Shaggy to the event to play games and interact with the kids. There will also be special appearances by Medieval Times cast members, Broadway at the Beach’s Prince Sparks and Coastal Carolina University’s Chauncey.

There’s even more fun to be had, though, as the Carolina Choo Choo Train will be offering children rides, Mincey’s Miniature Horses will have pony rides available, Senor Frogs is hosting Kids Karaoke, QRock radio will be hosting an open house and IMAZ 3D will be taking free green screen photos where kids will get to be the star of the scene.

On March 20th, 2010, the 3rd Annual Taste of the Coast is scheduled at Barefoot Landing from 11am-4pm. This event will highlight local restaurants and attendees will be able to sample their specialties. The event is entirely kid-friendly, as there will be a Kid Zone with games and activities like bounce houses, pony rides, carnival-style games, balloon artists and face painters. The band “Diversity” will also be providing live entertainment throughout the event.

Entry to the event is $1.00 or one canned good. Food and ride tickets are $1.00 each. The event is a fundraiser for the Rise Christ Lutheran School as well as the North Strand Helping Hand.

The 2nd Annual Myrtle Beach Beer Festival is slated for March 26 & 27, 2010, at The Market Common. Beer sampling, food and live entertainment will be featured. Over 100 beers will be available to sample. Event hours are from 5pm-8pm on March 26 & from 12pm-7pm on March 27. Admission is free. Most 4 oz. samples will be $1 or $2. Higher end beers will be $3 to $6. Anyone sampling beers will have to purchase a tasting mug for $2. A bar will also be on-site for those who would like to purchase a full beer instead of sampling.

Myrtle Beach Events are always exciting, just like the area itself. If you plan on attending one of the above events, try to catch one of the fantastic Myrtle Beach Shows while you’re in town. They are a great way to spend time with family and there are great discounts available.
