"Has withstood the test of time"

I have been coming to this park since I was a teenager, and for the most part it has withstood the test of time. The wooden rollercoaster is great. One of the best coasters on the southern Atlantic. The arcade is still in relatively good shape and seems to be adequately maintained like the coaster. Other rides are also in good shape. The entire park seems to be kept relatively clean. Family wise, a good place to spend time with your children. I just hope that Myrtle Beach will not let this park die like the MB Pavilion, where I spent quite a few Summers as a young teenager. Would be a shame, but you can't fight progress, or the mighty dollar.

"A traditonal Park, that has ran it's course"

Family KIngdom, home of the Grand Strand's iconic wooden roller coaster, "The Swamp Fox" is still a place from the outside that gets even the oldest "kids" (Adults) excited, with all the bells, lights, and whistles. Unfortunately, it is a place that has seen better days. They have made attempts to add a few new attractions, however, their prices will reflect that, and the newer attractions doesn't warrant the prices they charge nowadays. It is a dressed up carnival, with many of the pushy, rude, obnoxious, and smelly carnies that are found at county fairs. They have tried, to their credit, to revitalize the park, and make it a "family" kingdom, even adding a water park years ago. However, the water park is an absolute joke, and crazy expensive. To be fair, muvh of Myrtle Beach is a joke anymore, and is now called "Little Detroit" by many who live close by, which replaced "Dirty Myrtle!!" It's sad, for someone who grew up, with that the highlight of the year, when we took that 196 mile drive down to the coast. With the Pavillion gone, and so much crime, trashy areas, hords of traffic, and crony politicians in Myrtle, that it has came to what it is. R.I.P. the "REAL MYRTLE BEACH"

"We liked the rollercoaster"

Family Kingdom is an amusement park on the myrtle beach oceanfront. The park is a pay-per-ride park where you purchase tickets to ride their attractions. My wife and I went for the soul purpose of riding the Swamp fox roller coaster and the go karts, so we bought the 26 tickets for $25.00 package. We were disappointed when we found out after buying the tickets that the go karts had been closed down earlier that day for the end season. So we tried to ride the zip-line and were told by the attendant that, and I quote, "the battery is dead." At least he was nice enough to look up from his phone to inform us. In the end, we used our extra tickets on the Ferris wheel and the bumper cars, but we were still happy we got to ride the rollercoaster. #RplusRadventures

Nothing wrong with this place but also nothing spectacular. Kids love it. They enjoy the rides and that is what is important. I do like that there are rides for older children and some for little kids also. I would suggest this place for a family outing. Perfect place to entertain children for a good few hours.
