Description

from Myrtle Beach SkyWheel
First, man flew to the moon and then, in 2011, they invented the SkyWheel – the first observation wheel of its kind in the United States. Want a better perspective? The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is 200-feet above sea level. Take a flight overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk in one of our 42 climate controlled and fully enclosed gondolas.

Situated as a centerpiece of the 1.2 mile-long Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade, the SkyWheel is surrounded by some tasty eats, great shopping and the pristine sands of the Atlantic. When you’re done having your breath taken away by the view from your flight, browse the LandShark SurfShack and then grab a bite at the LandShark Bar & Grill.

The ride lasts approximately 8-12 minutes with 3 rotations of the wheel.

Children under the age of 2 get to ride free with an Angel Ticket. Must visit the box office upon arrival to receive angel ticket.

"A great way to see the beach!"

It's my first time at Myrtle Beach with my boyfriend, we had a great time taking the SkyWheel which gave us a perfect view of the beach coast. The ride was smooth with A/C (that was a big plus!) Strongly recommended.

A cheap and different way to see the entire town. I recommend the Sky Wheel (as long as you're not afraid of heights)

Tip: I liked going during the day time so you can see the town. However, the Sky Wheel is lit up pretty at night but I still recommend to go on the ride in the daytime and just take a picture of it at night

This was such a different experience! Slow enough to soak in the views! Very relaxing time with my son! A bit pricey, used a Groupon but it wasn't very explanatory on use at purchase so be careful.

"Overpriced & No Spectator Seating"

$35 for 3 kids aged 14, 13 & 9 to ride this thing around 4 rotations. There is ONE bench for spectators to sit and watch and barely any sun coverage. Then they have the audacity to charge $20 for an 8 x 10 souvenir photo & 2 magnets. And to top it all off, I had a coupon for $1 off per person. When I looked at my receipt, they only gave me 93 cents off per person. RIP OFF! Save your money and spend it elsewhere! The one saving grace was the kind man Gene who sold us the tickets.

I'm sorry but $15 to ride a ferris wheel? I don't think so. Their were four of us. That would have been $60 to ride this thing. Safe yourself some money and pay $1 to walk out to the end of one of the piers and get just as good a view. I think $10 max would have been reasonable for this attraction.

I am not a fan of a faris wheel. I hate heights. I also paying a high price to go in a circle. My husband and son convinced me to try this. I feel the price was too high. I also felt you were rushing on. Once you are on it is nice and you have great views.
