"Not worth the money"
July, 2017
Aquarium not worth the money. Very disappointed. Plus paid extra to do the glass bottom bias. Which was terrible. Not really even a boat. A girl pulls you around on the water with a rope. You see the same fish as you seen walking around in aquariums. What a joke.
Tip: Don't waist your money

"Great except for the exit"
March, 2017
Ripley's Aquarium is a wonderful venue for the whole family. My only objection is the fact that you must exit through the gift shop. Our 2 year old grandson had a meltdown because he wanted everything in the store. Of course all of the stuffed toys are at kid level. Going to the aquarium is an expensive outing for a family without having to deal with small children on the way through the exit.
Tip: Be prepared for young children to have a meltdown in the gift shop because that is the only way to exit the aquarium.

"My Daughter's Most Memorable Vacation"
September, 2016
This aquarium is extremely fascinating! From the live mermaid show to the boat ride to the interactive games for the children, there is fun to be had by the entire family. My three year old daughter was constantly entertained by this facility and didn't want to leave! I consider that a successful vacation. I deeply appreciate the staff and their dedication to the facility. I can't wait to come back, year after year!

"Family fun"

My family had a great time visiting the aquarium. Lots of different areas to look at it. Very kid/stroller friendly. Would definitely recommend to other families.
Tip: There is a lot of different areas to look at, would recommend taking a stroller to keep small children from walking too much.

"Grandkids summer vacation"
August, 2016
This was our second time going to aquarium. The first time our oldest grandchild was moving around so fast we seem to miss a lot. This time he took his time and explored every corner and animal. They love the petting zone. This experience is something every child needs to experience. Loved it.
Tip: Allow plenty of time to explore the aquarium. It was awesome.

"Outstanding on a hot day"
August, 2016
The Aquarium was amazing to our little one who had big eyes the whole time. It was nice and cool inside.
Tip: Busy during hot summer days. Better ticket prices on here than at the Aquarium or online at Ripley's.

Having previously visited other aquariums with our 2 and 4 year olds, perhaps my expectations for their reactions were a little higher than average but they (and myself and husband) were pretty underwhelmed. The aquarium itself is rather small and it was SUPER packed. Luckily we had a deal for half-priced tickets. Definitely not worth paying full price. If you can get your tickets in advance, I would recommend doing so as you have to wait in line outside to purchase tickets. They have mermaid shows which is cool in theory, but unless you want to sit and wait for 45 mins to an hour just plan on skipping that. It's a very small viewing area and it gets jam packed quickly. The exhibits seemed a little poorly planned as the tanks were large but viewing areas were small or the tanks were higher up making it out of sight for smaller children. We opted out of the glass bottom boat because they simply pull you around a small tank which you can already view from other places. The one saving grace to this place is that they had a fully enclosed moving sidewalk surrounded by tanks. The tanks were full of fish and sharks so it was cool to see the sharks up close and it was nice that the moving sidewalk kept the flow of traffic going instead of trying to fight to get up to view it. My daughters' favorite part...a small, climbable pirate exhibit in the middle of the aquarium where you can play with a boat steering wheel. Overall, it's something to do and it's located in a neat area with more activities and you can take the free trolley there and back if you're staying near the beach.

Great place to go on a rainy day. They offer military discount and NC resident discounts. Loved to see the animals and mermaids too. Enjoyed the sharks!!!Walkways were crowded with people and it was pretty loud in the building. The gift shop was our highlight (3 year old). My daughter had a lot of fun.
