Not recommended for small kids. My 5 year old really wanted to go in because of the transformer in the front but lost interest pretty quick. Had a lot of cool stuff to look at.
I've been to several locations and this one was just as good as any. As you can expect there are all kinds of fun things to learn and see. I would however, suggest skipping the arcade at the end as there are problems with quite a few machine.
I've always been a fan of the concept of displaying oddities. If you don't take it too seriously, it is a fun place to spend about 20 minutes, or longer, if you've never been there before. This was actually my second visit to the Myrtle Beach Ripley's in about 7 years, and I remembered some of the displays. If you've been there before, you would notice that they haven't done much to add anything new. However, it is very interesting, and the kids I saw there seemed to be enjoying themselves, especially with the interactive activities. I liked all of the weird and interesting facts that they displayed. It is definitely worth a visit if you've never been there before. Buy your tickets online and buy the aquarium + a couple of Ripley's attractions to get a better value than buying individual tickets at the site.
