ive went on the 5D theater twice and its a nice alternative to some of the other attractions at the beach. the only negative thing i would say is it doesnt last very long. about 20 min.but still fun just wish for the cost they could either add one more show or make the two they show longer.

"Like being in a car accident!"
April, 2016
While we love the Ripley's museum, the 5D Moving Theater was TERRIBLE! The seats we're very hard and jerked violently from side to side so fast and hard that it actually Hurt you! I'm not kidding, it was very literally like getting assaulted. Such a shame because Wonderworks Myrtle Beach and the Ripley's in Niagara Falls do not hurt like this. There's something wrong here when you go for a fun experience and you literally end up sore afterwards. They need to have their engineers fix this or update the theater with a better system.

I have been going to.myrtle beach for the last 4 years. This year decided to try it out. 2 movies (kid themed) when i say the ride is violent is an understatement. The side to side movements. Well it slams hard very hard to a stop in both directions. Overall experience is i wanted out as fast as i could. May i recommend the 7D theater in barefoot landing. More options as far as movies (fun and scary ones) and hands down much better experience

The first time you visit this attraction you will enjoy it but after that that's it. The movements are ok but lack the excitement that me and the kids were expecting. We were able to watch two show that seemed to be about 10 to 15 minutes long. overall it is o.k.

"Great concept, POOR execution"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed September 25, 2017
Great concept, but poor execution, NOT worth the money. It's expensive to get into for only a 15-20 minute show. My biggest critique would be that the movement timing was way off, or the motion didn't match the action of the film. This was very annoying to me. The overall quality was also poor, which was unusual and disappointing for a Ripley's attraction. The 3D glasses are very worn, so the lenses are a bit warped/peeling. I had to go through 5 of them to get one that worked. Oddly, when entering the theater the seats are not in a standard straight position. You have to get into them while they are tilted to the right, which is very awkward. The seats are also tight and uncomfortable with support handles that are poorly placed and dig into your legs. The seat movements were VERY jerky. They would quickly move side to side instead of smoothly. This was for EVERY movement, not just moments where the action was supposed to be jerky. It felt more like I was a light switch than a scroll wheel. Some people had to leave halfway through because the movement was so jarring it hurt them. To make things worse, the attendant was bland, monotone, and showed no excitement. The jokes he made would have been funny had he tried, but he said them so dry it sounded like a computer. He would then pause for "expected" laughter but the group of about 20 just stared at him. It was awkward.

"Not for adults!!!!"

You pay to get beat up for about 15 minutes! Those chairs are horrible! and if you have any meat on your bones forget having a comfortable ride! Don't go if you're on the plus side but anyways...its mostly for kids anyways because the movies are cartoons! Does not aim for adults! Kids however will probably like it. But I was bruised on my arms and legs after going there!
