"Nice enough, great location"

I stayed here with my family of 5, I initially booked a 2 bedroom apartment but then realised the balcony and partial ocean view would not accommodate my expectations. I requested a change to the 3 bedroom and had to confirm the lady of reception was very helpful and went the extra mile to ensure we changed our room, seamlessly and without time pressure. The good points: * The room itself was spacious and comprised all the amenities required to make this a pleasurable stay * Lifts were very efficient, given the size of the hotel, we never waited more than a minute for a lift * Child friendly pool environment - my daughter loved the pool options available * Upon room change, the lady at front desk was friendly and empathic, as well as the non front desk hotel staff that I interacted with during my stay * Great location, beachfront The not so good points: * Though a welcome when changing rooms, the rest of my experience with the front desk was not amazing - not to say not friendly but not by any means exceeding expectations, which would allow this hotel to get a higher score * Balcony amenities, for a 3 bedroom apartment, we had one tiny table for 5 people sitting on the balcony. I would expect either a bigger table or multiple tables to accomodate a larger party, this is not something that should be fixed upon request - it should be present, upfront! * The pushy HGV lady needs to be told when folks are not interested in attending a talk, they mean that and not to continue pestering. I booked directly with the hotel and gave no indication I was interested in saving any money for future holidays, yet she continued her pitch beyond the time period that I would have expected her too. I really thought about the scoring and based the above, I would only score an average, based on my above points.

"Great Visit!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

We just spent a week at Anderson Ocean Club! Our 1 bedroom suite was spacious, clean and the kitchen was well equipped! The staff person at check in was very friendly and informative. Ed took our luggage to our room, very professional and knowledgeable of resort. Enjoyed a couple of meals at Magnolia @ 26th. Justin took our luggage to the car when we checked out. He was right on time, handled all the luggage, including placing it carefully in the car. He inquired about our visit, invited us back and wished us well on our trip home. What a class act!

"A few minor problems, but an amazing place overall"

The room was amazing. We had a perfect view of the ocean and it really felt like we were staying in a very nice apartment. The only issue was that the door was propped open and there were a pair of men's underwear in the dryer...which was running when we arrived. I asked for an explanation but did not receive one. I was told 3 times that they were notifying the manager, but I never heard anything. I would still come back and stay, that's how nice it was. Still would like that explanation though...

"Actually, Pretty Darn Good"

We booked the Anderson Ocean Club through Hilton Grand Vacations and we were quite happy with our studio room. We had a decent enough ocean view, although you could only fit one chair on the balcony. The room was clean and nicely appointed--every bit as good as what we'd previous experienced through HGV in Park City, UT. It would be nice if there was a restaurant on the property, but the Captain's House is fantastic and a fairly short walk. Yes, Magnolia's, across the street is not upscale, but we had a decent meal there. After reading previous reviews, we brought our own low-profile beach chairs and saved the rental fee. The staff was pleasant enough, although the concierge staff did seem to be more intent on having us do the 60-minute "owner update," which we declined several times. Although the next time we travel to Myrtle Beach we may go with the Ocean 22, we'd have no qualms about the Anderson again.

"Long Weekend Rest trip"

We had a little trouble at first using Paypal to book this hotel. The morning after I had "thought" that it was booked I found that it was not. Upon calling the reservations office to confirm whether or not we were in deed "booked", I was told that they were showing nothing for me. When asked if I would be charged for the room twice if I rebooked I was told that she had no idea. I then took a chance and called back and talked to the most pleasant and helpful young lady "Jaquiline". She was able to rebook me, and handle a room change that we were going to do because the ocean front room was not available on the first day. Other than the brief problem that we had in the beginning, the rest of the experience was "top-notch"!! The rooms(we had two) were very nice with high-end furniture and extremely comfortable beds. The staff was both friendly and helpful with our every need. The walk to the parking garage was about a block away and was really no big deal, but may be if it were to be raining. All in all a great hotel that we will book again in the future!
