"Great View Great Price"

We had a King Oceanview room. The view was amazing, the balcony private which are must haves for me. As with many condos, the room was small and not quite what my husband expected when he booked. He expected a kitchen and we had a mini fridge with coffee maker and microwave on top with a small sink. This was a workable setup for a 2 night stay. The room was clean, the hotel was nicely situated to stores and restaurants. Would have preferred to have a chair in the room. We could have brought the plastic chairs from the balcony inside but already spent mornings and evening watching sunrise and sunset in those chairs. Would have been nice to have something more comfortable in the room so we both did not have to sit on the bed after long days of walking the beach and boulevard. Price was very reasonable and we will definitely return to this property.

"Small Rooms, Weak Pools, Mildly Below Average Hotel"

Long story short: I don’t recommend this place for any type of visitor for the time being. My room was tiny, and mildly dirty. I think that they are on the way up but that “up” is a ways off. I stayed in the Oceanfront King room (507B). Let’s start with the parking situation. It’s pretty standard but there is a bit longer of a walk than normal. Instead of the parking deck being directly across the street from the hotel it’s 2 streets up. It’s not a huge deal but it’s something to consider if you’re traveling with children, as I was approached by panhandlers three times during my 1 day there. After check-in you’re given your room key and it is pretty darn annoying. It’s an RFID based card / not a magnetic stripe one so you have to tap it to door locks to get them to open. Well first off everything is behind these locks (if you’re unfortunate enough to get an ocean front king room like us you will have to use the card to get in the building, then to get into a door that separates your room from the hallway and then on your door). Second off these cards just do not work well. We had 3 keys assigned to us and I could not consistently get the card to work. It’s a minor annoyance but it’s just something that adds to a bad experience. I can only speak to the king oceanfront room but let me start this by saying that this particular room is ABSOLUTELY TINY! 2 people and a child, even an infant, is not possible. The room is so small that if you open the closet door you can’t walk past the bed. The bathroom is mildly cramped as well. Our bathroom was clearly not cleaned very well as there was what appeared to be a small feces stain on the tank of the toilet right above the toilet handle, and a small speck of dried blood on the toilet paper roll holder (which sits right above a trash can). The dried speck of blood is nitpicking but it led me to worry about how thorough they were throughout the unit. The shower pressure was incredibly low. They did provide plenty of clean towels (I checked them for cleanness after the feces was found) and a bar of soap / bottle of shampoo. There is a kitchenette in the unit with a sink, coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. The refrigerator is a decent size (a little larger than a dorm sized one). Unfortunately, they do not provide coffee beans automatically, you need to request it at the front desk. Seems like a silly way to save a few pennies. One thing that is absolutely shocking is that these rooms are so small that there isn’t a chair or table anywhere at all in the room. The only chairs in the place are 2 plastic yard chairs on the balcony. This means that when you order a pizza you’ll be sitting on the bed and eating it. If you decide to whip out your laptop and do a little work… yep you’ll be sitting on the bed. It seems to me that they split one normal size room into two rooms to try and save money, and it really really shows. The balcony is small but adequate for 2 people. It contains 2 plastic chairs and a low/small table. It also contains a large ashtray (I’m talking really large, like the ones they put outside of restaurants). If you aren’t a smoker then this might bother you because ours had a really strong odor of cigars. I guess they don’t empty it after every visitor. The view of the beach is great. You can see the ferris wheel to your left and a peaceful pier to your right. The bed is definitely adequate. It’s not the most comfortable bed I’ve laid on but I’m not complaining either. The pillows are comfortable, the mattress feels springy yet firm. The throw is very dated and is probably the biggest detraction from the bedding. The pool area is honestly pretty weak for comparable hotels. There are only indoor pools. The “swimming” pool was tiny, frigid, and had a maximum depth of 4 feet. The lazy river was a very short loop (but it did seem to be heated). There is also a small 1 feet deep pool for children with an umbrella that constantly drops water that was unfortunately not headed. Finally there is a hot tub that worked just fine and was a decent size. Outside there is a tiny splash park. We’re talking about the same size as one at a small town local park, maybe even smaller. At the end of the day this isn’t the place you want to take kids that are excited to play in the water. Now onto the location. It’s really in a great location. A short walk on a well lit stone path gets you to the boardwalk. The only bad news (and this isn’t the resorts fault) is that this area is inundated with panhandlers. Definitely not the resorts fault just a warning that you will likely run into a beggar or two during your stay if you venture out. Final thoughts: I paid $90 for a one-night stay on a weekday in late September. This place just doesn’t compete with others in that price range (Ocean Reef Resort & Dunes Village Resort immediately spring to mind if you’re looking for a family outing, and the Hotel Blue will be much cheaper if you’re looking for a party atmosphere). They do seem to be working hard here and everyone I met was extremely courteous. I think that this place has the chance to be something decent and worth visiting in the near future but for now the best I can give it is 2 stars and suggest that you avoid this place and seek out better alternatives.

Well, this is the 8th year of going on vacation at the BayView Resort in Myrtle Beach, and needless to say, that should speak for itself! We always stay in an Oceanfront Condo with a balcony overlooking the Ocean. The rooms are spotless as is the bathroom, and housekeeping is superb! You have 2 Televisions, Coffee pot, Toaster, Microwave, Conventional oven and a large refrigerator with an ice maker for your convenience. There is an ample supply of glass and cookware and utensils for your convenience as well. There are 2 beds and a pull out couch to sleep more! There is a safe to keep your personal belongings while you go and enjoy an awesome poolside area with a spa, a lazy river, and games to play. The gym is TOP NOTCH and helps keep you in shape for the beautiful long walks up and down the boardwalk as you experience fine food, especially Dirty Don's. There are numerous shops where you can buy nice clothes and souvenirs. If you want to venture out, there is Broadway on the Beach a few miles away featuring more fine restaurants and shopping and attractions. It is the only place I vacation with my wife and it has always been rewarding. Oh! Fishing. You can rent or bring your own fishing gear and fish off the pier or right on the beach! Par Excellence! Only place to vacation on the East Coast!

We stayed in a one bedroom oceanfront condo on the 19th floor the view was beautiful and the room was very clean and specious, even the balcony was bigger than most. The convenience of having a washer and dryer inside of the room was a big plus along with a full kitchen it was a home away from home. This hotel is in the perfect location for walking to local attractions. The staff was great everyone was nice and helpful. I would love to make this hotel home for all of my Myrtle Beach vacations.
