We have stayed in Myrtle Beach numerous times but this was our first stay at Camelot. We were in a corner 3-bd suite #1017. Breaking down what we liked and didn't like so that you can make your own decision... GREAT: -Parking so close to your room. Most hotels have parking across the street; Camelot has a garage that allows you to park and walk just steps to your door. -Location. Oceanfront with very easy beach access, just a half-block from a few restaurants, quick-service and full-service. You can easily walk to boardwalk and skywheel within 10 mins. GOOD: -Suite was very spacious. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen and dining area, living room. Balcony connected the living room and master, so there was plenty of room for at least 4 people to sit out. TVs in all bedrooms plus living room. We had 5 people staying here but very easily could fit 6, probably 8. NOT SO GOOD: -The furniture was in dire need of an update. Think very worn 1980s. The refrigerator was a hotpoint on its last leg and ran so loudly that it could be heard over the ocean many times. -Mattresses looked brand new but were very uncomfortable and thin. ATROCIOUS: -Housekeeping! This was the worst housekeeping service I have ever come across, seriously. It was enough to completely distract from our stay and question whether we would ever stay in this property again. First off, the cleanliness in our room upon check-in was lacking. Not bad enough that we would check out, but little things like the master bath had 2 out of 3 bulbs burned out, and toilets were obviously express-cleaned. Secondly, we came back to our room after dinner one night and flicked on the lights in the kitchen. Two roaches went scurrying. I know bugs are bad at the beach and sometimes these things happen, but it is really a turnoff on vacation when you have to chase and kill roaches. I covered the dead bodies with a dishtowel in the corner of the counter because I am not about to pick up dead bugs on vacation. The next day, we came back to our room and there had been no housekeeping service. So no towels, still dead roaches under the dishtowel, no more toilet paper, etc. Called the front desk and was told it was too late for full-service housekeeping but someone would bring us new towels, which she did. Third day, we come back to our room, still burnt out lightbulbs, dead roaches under the dishtowel, place has not been straightened. I was about to call the front desk and tell them they missed us for the 2nd day in a row when I noticed that the bed in the master was made. None of the other beds were made, but that one was and we had gotten a new supply of towels. So while that was nice, they missed the other two beds, toilets, lightbulbs, kitchen, and general straightening. Honestly I could not wait to check out because I kept thinking about how much the place was probably not thoroughly cleaned from lots of past guests. A real turn-off to what should have been a fantastic rental.

Each room is oceanfront, clean and comfortable. Each room has a small but efficient kitchen. There is a parking garage infront of the hotel. It is covered for 9 stories and then the top is open. We usually stay on the 8th or 9th floor so we basically walk out of our suite and into the car. They have indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs and a very relaxing lazy river. You can easily walk to a Dunkin'Donut, Starbucks or Krispy Kreme.

The rooms (suites) are very comfortable. We have been staying there for the past ten years. Everything was really good until last summer (2016). The maid service did not happen on three different days. Not just our room, but the rooms of several of our friends who were also staying there. The rooms really needed a good cleaning.

If you are looking for a relaxing winter get-away this is a wonderful escape location right on the ocean. All the rooms have a balcony overlooking the ocean ~ are fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, oven and all the expected tableware, cookware and utensils including a toaster. The Sky Wheel, the Gay Dolphin and Boardwalk are only a few blocks away. I can't forget our favorites ~ Camelot's INDOOR pool, children's pool, spa pool and a heavenly lazy river! They also have an outside pool, and spa pool which we did not use. Right next door is a Duncan Donuts which is open in winter from 6 am to 3 pm and has a great variety of delicious hot and iced coffees, latte's, donuts, bagels and muffins. We understand they have longer 'normal' hours in other seasons.

We stayed at Camelot for two nights and everything was perfect. Off season so the price was awesome. We stayed in the smallest room but it was still plenty large enough for me and my wife. Comfortable beds, hot showers. They are doing a little construction by the pool but we were still able to swim at night. Highly recommend. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful.
