At first glance I was very impressed with this hotel. For the price, the rooms are quite spacious, and the views are incredible. However, there were problems lying under the surface. The elevators are scary to use and some don't even work. A member of my party actually got stuck in one. The rooms aren't as clean as they should be. Although the rooms with kitchens provide you with pans/plates/etc. nearly all of them were dirty. The housekeeping service was sub par. They seemed to have made the beds and replaced the soap, and did absolutely nothing else. At one point I even found a mouse dropping in my sheets, and another member of my party found a roach in her window. Due to the humidity and the salty air, some of the doors and walls of the hotel have been eaten away at, and there was even a hole in one guests door. Overall this was a very unpleasant experience.
I wasn't sure what to expect being that we got a heck of a rate. I decided we couldn't beat the price and give them a try! I was a little worried after reading some reviews but still went ahead and booked our stay. As we arrived we were greeted by ALLIE! Wow she went above and beyond for my family and did not hesitate to take on some requests I made same day. She was very friendly, welcoming and made the check in process so easy. Room was clean and comfortable! The ocean view from our room was amazing. We got more than we expected for what we paid! We had to see what the hype was at the Santa Maria's restaurant. MS. JUDY sure does make the best waffles and omelets!! These other reviews are no joke! My family and I definitely will stay here again!!
The staff were very nice and the room was very clean and nicely decorated. Waking up to the sounds of the ocean wave was amazing. Great place beautiful view. And close by to all attractions. They have a bar and grill in the resort and the pools are great for all ages.
The wife wanted to get a vacation in before the babies came so we booked a room at The Caravelle Resort. Checked in on Saturday and the room was ready for us upon arrival (2pm). The girl at the front desk was very friendly and got us through quickly. We booked a King bed oceanfront room and the view was great. The room was very clean and it had a full size refrigerator which was very nice. The pool and hot tub were great and there was always chairs available. Going in late April was a great idea due to it being the "off season" so there was not a lot of traffic or waits at any restaurant. The weather was low 80's with sunny skies everyday. If you can afford to go in late April early May, I definitely recommend it.
