We have stayed at The Caravelle many times and it is always great. It is a located in the perfect spot.....close enough to all the attractions yet just far enough to offer families quiet nights and perfect walks on the beach. We love the pools. The beachside Marco Polo Bar and Grill is great. And you can't forget the on site restaurant, Santa Maria, where JUDY makes the BEST omelets in town! Game room, gym, lounge, spa, nightly activities....has it all!

Miss Judy was nothing but kind, polite & respectful and made breakfast every morning a delight. Best omelettes in Myrtle Beach. Emily, Nicole & Stevie also made breakfast every morning enjoyable, their service I would rate a 10/10. I've been coming here for 15+ years and the service I've received on this visit has been the best I've had yet. I recommend the Caravelle to anyone that visits & make sure you stop in the Santa Maria restaurant as well.

"What a disaster!"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

The reviews we'd read on the Caravelle before booking our stay were all glowing. Someone must have been paid to write them. Here is the truth. Knowing that we had young children with us, they put us in a 3rd floor unit, with no elevator. Anyone with common sense knows that when you have young children along, there will be a lot of extra supplies needed. So we had to lug everything up all those stairs! We got into the unit to find it was roasting in there. Immediately turned the a/c lower and thought we'd give it some time to cool down. Then found a leak in the kitchen ceiling, causing a puddle on the floor. Called to have it repaired and left to check out the pools and beach; totally expecting the room to be much cooler when we returned. Instead, it was Hotter! Then we found that none of the bathroom outlets or hair dryers worked. Continually tried calling maintenance and the front desk. Neither one answered our repeated calls. Finally I went to the office. I had to wait in the same line as for check in, as they don't have separate ones, depending on why you're in there. The man and his son in front of me where there to have their room changed also. They said it was filthy and had bugs. Once I finally got to the associate, they couldn't just easily change our room, they had to bring out a manager. She did move us to a first floor unit. OK, if this unit was available--again, knowing we had young children and therefore extra supplies with us, why weren't we given it originally? It was nicer and everything worked, but it had roaches! We felt we had to stay anyway. There was no offer to help us move all of our things at all either. Through all of this, we had repeatedly asked and told them why we desperately needed a unit with wifi, but never did get that. It had not been told to us when making the reservation that NOT all of their rooms and units have wifi. Our son-in-law had online homework for his college classes that he had planned on getting done there. It was severely hampered by not having wifi in the unit. Besides all of this, we tried for days to get the discount tickets the resort advertises having for Ripley's Aquarium. They never had any our entire time there! We were also never given the MVP discount card they advertise. In total, while we had a good time at Myrtle Beach overall, this resort is a disaster. I have now contacted them four times about my husbands college cap he thinks he lost on the property and they will not even respond as to if it was found or not. They are not nearly as friendly or helpful as they claim to be and some of this property is horrible.
