"Worse vacation in quite a while"
October, 2016
First of all Dayton House has 3 buildings. We were given a room in the one across the street from the beach . Don't ever stay there. we were startled awake every morning by a noise. The final straw came when they were repairing the roof, much banging and hammering and we were not warned nor offered a different room while this was going on. When I called the front desk they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about but said that he would call us back. Never received a call back. Secondly, do not be deceived by the name,no way was that a RESORT. There was a red stain on the carpet and on the mattress, I'll let you decide what that might have been.
Tip: Customer service non existent and substandard room

"Wonderful! But needs more handicap parking.."
June, 2016
I just returned from my first trip to Myrtle Beach. The Dayton House is a great place to stay. We had a beautiful, clean partial ocean view room, and the hotel has three pools, two Jacuzzis, and a lazy river. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and they are a short distance from the fabulous Broadway on the Beach. The grounds at the Dayton House were immaculately kept. It's a great place for families. And the price was very reasonable, a great value for what you get. The only problem I had was parking..We had a disabled adult that's in a wheelchair and it was really hard finding handicap parking. I had to drop that person off and then park a distance from the motel which I wasn't fond of but I would still recommend the Dayton House.
Tip: low number of handicap parking

"Relaxing At The Dayton House Resort"
July, 2015
This was our first time staying in Myrtle Beach and we took a chance booking a Hotel we had never been to. We had a great stay. We were upgraded to a ocean view suite as soon as we checked in. The yello umbrella area was a great addition to our stay. Never had to worry about finding a place to lay out and enjoy the ocean. The pools were fantastic and not overly crowded. We plan to come back again next year, because this Hotel is centrally located with plenty of restaurants and fun places to go.
Tip: Check the weather and bring plenty of sunscreen.

"Ok place to stay"
April, 2015
We had a great view of the ocean from our room, but that was the only thing to write home about. The room was an older room and you could tell it had been remodeled several times.
Tip: Parking can be a pain.

"Alabama Theater trip"

We were able to check in early and our room was very nice, functional room for the money. We didn't use any of the facilities, but other than a noisy shower we were very satisfied and got what we paid for. We have stayed here before and will again
Tip: if you are looking for fancy, this isn't the place, but if you want a decent place for a good price this is a very good choice

It just keeps getting better. Love everything about the Dayton Hotel. Stayed in a suite with kitchenette this time and a time before. There great! I've also stayed across the street and the rooms over there are awesome also. I would recommend The Dayton House to anyone without hesitation. See you soon Myrtle Beach and The Dayton House.

"Nice getaway!"

We stayed in an oceanfront efficiency. Loved it!! We got a coupon for 10% off breakfast at John's which we didn't use because we are vegans and the menu didn't look vegan friendly. The kitchenette was perfect as we always bring our own food when we travel. The beds were too soft for our liking and the pillows were hard but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

"Nice Suites !!"

We stayed here because we needed a suite so we could put kiddos in bed earlier than our bedtime. Suite build was very nice. Had Ocean front suite - Murphy bed in living room for kids -- Queen in bedroom for us. TV in both plus kitchen ! Only one bathroom. Only one major complaint. We know it would be cold when we were there - counted on indoor pool for entertainment. Apparently, Hurricane Matthew blew part of the roof off indoor pool & altho water was warm, the air was outdoor temperature !!!

"Old School Hotel"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

Stayed in the suites building ocean front 1 bedroom with kitchenette. This hotel is old and maybe locked in a time vault from the 50s. Old school furniture comforters ect. However, super clean and a great location. If you are the type of person who will pick everything a part then don't stay here. If not then stay. Great location. Bed a little firm for my liking but no biggie. Low shower head in shower but I just bent over a little. Shower was brand new and there were granite tops in the bathroom and kitchen. My room also came with free breakfast at John's. Which was also pretty good. The rest of the room was very old school vibe and charm. Uber to broadway ect 5 to 6 bucks each way

"I would stay here again"

We were in Myrtle Beach for one night on a business trip but it was me, my husband and our 12 year old son. The room was a little dated but very clean and I was surprised to see there was an extra pull down bed in the living room area as well as doors that sectioned off the rooms for privacy. Hattie was the employee that stood out the most. She was very helpful and friendly.
