"Soon to become Hilton...but still has a way to go"
July, 2016
Read our review on Trip advisor....that says it all.
Tip: Bring your own snacks, drinks and sandwhich meats...they only have one resturant loctaed on the fishing pier and food is nothing more than below average bar food.

"I won this trip"

I won a trip at work that included 4 days at this hotel. Check in was simple & the room was perfect for myself, my husband & 10 year old daughter. Upon check in we had a woman named Sarah. She was friendly & super knowledgeable. She was proactive in telling us stuff we needed to know to have an enjoyable stay! The registration area is the prettiest of the resort. It seems they are doing a remodel & added some other properties to the resort & are working to make it all cohesive. The putt putt golf was included although there was no workers to help, we were able to get clubs & 3 balls to play a game. It wasn't all working & parts were flooded from the rain but it was perfect to pass the time for us. The hotel did book about 75 kids that arrived the same day we did. There was about 4-6 of them hanging out in each room. They would run down the halls & yell off the balcony in late hours of night & throughout the day. They would crowd the pool & the lazy river making it impossible to enjoy time around there, including my daughter being able to swim.

As a previous guest of Springmaid for 30+ years I have no complaints about the accommodations or the planes because those are some of the qualities that I enjoy. My biggest complaint of my last visit is that there was no where to buy a simple soda after 6pm! No vending machines working and the market was closed. My other issue would have to do with the pet policy..im all for pet friendly hotels but I'm not a fan of dogs swimming in the lazy river or running around the pool deck off a leash. And, while I'm perfectly fine with the accommodations the way they are, I do believe the prices are way too high for what you are getting.

"Relaxed and uncrowded"

This out of the way location has a good hotel, great weather, a beautiful, uncrowded beach and is near restaurants and shopping. The only downside is that it is near the airport so there is some jet traffic. That occasional daytime traffic did not outweigh the beautiful setting, great staff, and hotel comfort. Camping is available across the street from the beach too!

"Ok for Myrtle Beach"

The property is nice. I love the green space between the hotel and ocean. Great views! However, the first evening that w checked in, there were crumbs all over a chair and floor around it. Five days later, still there. We spilled water on the floor and wiped it up with a white hand towel. It was filthy. Our room is across the hall from the cleaning supply closet. The staff is extremely loud and swear a lot. the fire alarm has gone off twice. I hope that there is no real fire because I'm ignoring it the next time. No ice in any of the ice machines today. When I told four different staff members, they all said they will get right on that. This is Friday and the ice machine on the second floor has not worked since I got here. So I'm thinking No. horrible free internet. This should not be an issue in today's world. Overall I gave this place a 3 becaus of the beach and grounds, but Hilton....this was no up to the standards that every other Hilton has. I don't care if I'm in Myrtle Beach, New York or wherever, this place needs a good scrubbing and higher standards.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a promotion to attend the Hilton Vacation club timeshare presentation. Pros: great beach, rooms were a decent size and had a great view. Cons: Location: was right under the flight path of MYR airport. Planes taking off all day long. You are at the far end of the beach so if you don't rent a car expect to Uber/taxi to all restaurants as there is no shuttle. Beach towels are impossible to come by, consider bringing your own. Life guards are in charge of chair/umbrella rentals which run $35 a day. Food was mediocre and very expensive. We had to wear wrist bands which seemed odd. No one ever checked them. Mini golf course could use some upkeep. We were on the 6th floor of the Palmetto building and there was one elevator. Sometimes we waited for 15 minutes just to get downstairs. All in all our stay was just ok. We certainly weren't wowed. We would have been more upset had we paid full price.
