We enjoyed this hotel stay better than any we've had before in the Myrtle Beach area. The hotel staff were so accommodating. The breakfast buffet was awesome and the hotel recommendations of sites to see and restaurants in the area was second to none.

"Nice place, poor service"

Stayed here for a soccer tournament as I have done in years past. We love the location and spacious rooms, all with an ocean view. The resort seemed a bit overwhelmed though. Service was very slow (45 mins to get an extra blanket) or non existent (never got extra shampoo and conditioner despite calling twice). I asked for a late checkout and was told no, which has never happened to me. They wouldn't even do an hour. Anyway, the hotel itself is fun and a nice place to come.

We booked this stay through Hilton Grand Vacations and will take the promotional tour tomorrow am. After reading many of the reviews, we were skeptical but upon arrival yesterday, we are completely satisfied. We are staying for 6 nights as we extended our time here beyond the 3 night 4 day offer. We have a wonderful view, and a great room on the 4th floor in the Live Oaks Building. The staff we’ve encountered so far have been very friendly and helpful with any of our questions. Our room is very clean and spacious for our needs. The beach is perfect and private and we are close to many great restaurants and shopping with a short car ride. Our only suggestions would be a larger coffee maker.. 😊

"Nice Beach Location"

All of the rooms here have an ocean view and ours, 181, was located on the first guest room floor opening out onto a large patio sitting area above the indoor pool, looking down over the hot tub and lazy river. For us this was a huge bonus because we had our own private gated veranda which directly opened onto the large upper deck public sitting area with Adirondack chairs and tables. We had coffee out there everyday overlooking the ocean, while our Upper Midwest home was going through a fierce late snowstorm. ;-) As other reviewers have noted, this former hotel Springmaid Hotel and Pier have recently been through a hurricane. Hilton properties is still working on getting it up to a higher quality level. The renovations in the main floor are very nicely done in beautiful modern decor of soft greys, whites, soft blues and greens with a touch of lime for added accent. Very soothing, very beautiful. The restaurant and bar here have expansive ocean views as well, and if you are a gold or diamond Hilton Honors member your breakfast is included. Happy hour is extended ftom 4 to 8 with half off drinks, and a nice selection of wines. One thing we noticed at breakfast though was that the large tall door connecting the porch seating and the interior tables banged very loudly EVERY time the staff entered or exited. So loudly that the walls actually shook. Management - please order a stronger soft close hinge system for your beautiful door! Breakfast has a full menu or a large buffet which includes an omelet station. On the room notes, again door issues. The door to the bathrooms appears to open from the wrong side and block the sink. These need to open from the outside left toward the shower, NOT the right. Also cleaning issues in that they seemed to be understaffed to the point that our room was never serviced in the day until 3:30 or 4 pm when we were getting changed for happy hour and dinner. Finally we just skipped it altogether for the last day with the do not disturb sign on the door. Exterior hallways still are being remodeled and still are a bit rough. But in another year or 2 this property should be complete. Hope there is not another hurricane though........ The room was comfortably remodeled nicely in blues with dark black furniture, loved the black and white photos of the Pier and Beach. We had a microwave, refrigerator, safe, and pullout couch, although our room had a large empty area where a desk and chair should probably go, so we worked at the small table instead. Our room had feather down pillows and quilts which had to be exchanged on checkin with hypoallergenic replacements. Very allergic to down :-( and this was done right away. Also they let us check in at noon which was fabulous. Thank you front desk people! Bonus - got some great photos of the hurricane damaged pier out in front here. And the property sits just north of the State Park so you can walk right down the beach to it. Loved that too!

Hotel was conveniently located and right on the beach which was wonderful. The pool and rooms could use some TLC. The staff are friendly and responsive. Overall a good hotel and great location.far enough away from the boardwalk and other hotels that we were glad we had a car.
