"Very Disappointing!"

I stayed at this hotel with some friends last weekend and was very disappointed. The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation but that is no excuse for a lack of cleanliness/safety. The floor and bathroom in the lobby area was dirty. Our room renovation wasn't complete. The bathroom floor was filthy with dirt and leftover contractor's glue. The bathroom door didn't have a lock on it. Someone had shoved paper in the lock. The smoke detector was also missing. Since this was a safety issue, we requested that maintenance come up to fix it, only to be told he leaves at 3 pm each day. We were offered another room that smelled musty and declined. The maintenance guy never did replace the smoke detector after three days. The carpet in the hallways and walls are atrocious. There was left over debris that was not vacuumed up and several guest rooms left open by the contractor's on our floor, another safety issue. The mattresses were new but the sheets were old and need to be replaced immediately. Awful! This hotel should be closed until all renovations are complete. The only positive was the staff. Joy and the breakfast staff are awesome! I will not be staying at or recommending this hotel.

First, my mistake. Thought this was the hotel AT Broadway at the Beach. It's not. It's across the street. Second, when booking it said the elevators were being repaired, however the entire hotel was in remodel mode. With that said, the hotel staff was very friendly, attentive, courteous, and the older room we did have, was clean, quiet, and since we were only there for a couple nights, Fine.

"AS A SPIRE ELITE MEMBER BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL IN MYRTLE BEACH. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! A MOTEL IS BETTER THEN THIS"

AWFUL HOTEL AND STAFF!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. For a $179 for the night this hotel is ABSOLUTELY not worth it. Please take a look at the images I have posted. I can not make this up. This is what you will deal with. The check in process was horrible with Guest agent Kiso. He has ABSOLUTELY no personality. He is also very sarcastic and rude with his statements. He will NOT smile and he will not make you feel like a Spire Elite member. He did not even acknowledge me as one. My card on my profile was not updated because i had since changed it and he stopped me and spoke very loudly and said Mr. Rankine "Your card declined". Unprofessional and embarrassing when other guest was around. I should have taken that opportunity to leave the hotel immediately but i did not see the hallways till i went to wash clothes and plus i wanted to prove that I could afford this hotel considering i make well over 6 figures a year. OMG it is horrible. What the heck do they have the guest breathing in. The bedroom was not nice at all. The view was ok. The place smelled and looked bad. The elevator had certain buttons that would not light up. SMH this is beyond the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. I would not eat here or stay here EVER AGAIN. if you need soap to wash your clothes, good luck. They had none. I came downstairs to speak with the new guest agents that came in. Sally was just as rude. A white lady came in from the front and as I am literally speaking to her she says to the lady "Mam how can i help you?" UNPROFESSIONAL!. I felt like I was in a twilight zone. DO NOT STAY HERE. IF YOU STAY HERE DO NOT COMPLAIN BECAUSE I WARNED YOU!!!!

"May be good when construction is complete"

As everyone else has said, the hotel was under construction. Once you made your way through the smoking workers on the cell phones sitting outside the front door, you saw the front desk that was a piece of plywood but the staff was very friendly. Asked for an updated room which they did give us. After going on the questionable elevator the floor was a HUGE mess. I'm not sure why they wouldn't close one floor and redo it rather than just doing some on each floor? Room was OK, valance was in the wardrobe and only thing on the window was a blind that flew off at odd times scaring us. Beds were fantastic, bathroom floor has shoe mark glue stains. It was almost as if the room was partially done but not quite. Housekeeping weren't terribly friendly when we asked them to come back. Business centre was covered by towels and printer wasn't working. Hotel may be good when its finished renovations but wouldn't stay there until after.
