"Great for Groups of Students"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed January 15, 2018 NEW
I recently stayed at Long Bay Resort with a group of students. Long Bay Resort (Brittain Group Sales) was Excellent. The group sales team worked with me numerous times to make sure everything was in place and helped me change room amounts and add breakfast vouchers. I was very pleased with check-in and everything was smooth. The rooms are perfect for a group of students. I liked how there was several different room choices to choose from. The rooms are not up to date, but it was perfect for what we needed. There were holes in the furniture, and overall seemed clean. I do wish they would have extra pillows and blankets in the closets for easy access. I had to ask for some, which wasn't a problem. Another great feature about the hotel was that they have a lot of activities for children. The students loved the mini-golf and were all able to play together. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and make sure we had enough equipment for all of the children. We didn't take advantage of the pool area, but it was nice and big. I also like that Starbucks is attached to this hotel. Overall, it is a fine place to stay for the price.

"The worst vacation experience."
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed January 08, 2018 NEW
This is probably one of the worst places I have stayed during vacation. Let me explain: - Check in was ok. - The lobby looked fine, even with a Starbucks right in the front door. But as you start getting closed to the rooms, everything starts looking bad. - The hallways toward the rooms were filthy. - We got to our room, and the first impression was “ok”. Not new stuff, but organized. Very dark though. As soon as we put our stuff in the room we went to the beach and then to dinner, so no time to look the room in detailed. - Once back we start noticing that the entire room was completely filthy. We have two toddlers, who we prohibited to touch anything because of the level of dirtiness of the room. - As you can see in the pictures, the bathroom had pubic hair everywhere. Even some coins where found inside the bathroom. That tells me that they didn’t even try to clean. - In the head board of the bed, a weird stain was found. - The murphy bed mattress and the couch mattress were horrible. I wouldn’t put my kids there. - The refrigerator was licking inside, and around it, it was never cleaned. - The sofa bed and chair in the living room where full of crumbs (never vacuumed), also full of stains. - Behind the beds all kinds of stuff were found. Empty bottle of water, peanuts, and of course dirt. - We went to the balcony to relax a little, and we found roaches. - The full curtain fell on top of us. We have to re attached it to the wall. You can tell the curtain has fallen multiple times, and they have never had a proper fix for it. - That same night I went to talk to the front desk. Matt told me that he was going to write a manager report to explain my situation, but I should come back the next day so they can give me another room. The next day I talked to Darin, who seems to be the manager and who never got any report of course. He was very busy talking to the police because apparently somebody broke into one of the rooms and stole things from one of the visitors. - They passed me the keys for another room for me to look at it. It was a little bit better but still with hairs in the bathroom and other dirty stuff. - The manager decided to send the VIP cleaning crew to my room later on, to which I agreed. - My family and I went out for dinner. After we come back around 8PM (several hours later), no cleaning was done, and the manager went home. - WE CHECKED OUT THAT NIGHT AND WENT TO ANOTHER RESORT. As note: the restaurant manager very rude. Two out of 4 coffee mugs were dirty. One even had lipstick in it.

Checked in with no towels in room. Called immediately and 4 times later and did not receive towels until next morning at 8:30 am after calling again to new manager. Night manager was rude and not helpful. Room needed some upkeep. Noise from parking garage all night and unable to sleep. Will never stay here again!

"Nice hotel, horrible pool and lazy river!"

Great location. Starbucks and Martins Restaurant are wonderful. You can't enjoy the pool or lazy river area because of no staff supervision. I was hit in the face with a football while in the pool. And several teens, who were not in a tube, shoved me into the lazy river wall and cut my knee open.
