"No cable no wifi"

Let me start by saying that the condo itself was just fine. Clean and spacious, but we were not informed at check in about them not having no cable or wifi. Would have been nice to know when we got there instead of having to ask about it at the front desk. We should have been told what was going on before hand. Wasn't very happy about that one.

"Terrible experience. Owners are watching!!!"

We checked into Myrtlewood March 31st for 6 nights. We rented house number 4718. The purpose of our stay was Baseball. We booked through the Ripken Experience. We had stayed the year before at Myrtlewood and had a solid experience. I spoke with Kim Berbary through Ripken and ask if the exact same house was available to rent again. She confirmed it was. I booked this home last September. Upon check in we proceeded to the house to find that it was not the same house we had been guaranteed. The house we were told we would have was a 3 bedroom with a king, a queen, and two twins. The house we were given had a full, two twins, and some type of daybed. Not exactly the same set up. Through the use of a cot and blow-up mattress we had brought we made it work. Once settled in we discovered a leaking sink and that the home had no wifi. The first night we received a call from the front desk asking us to move our 15 passenger van. My van was parked on the street. It was not extending beyond either side of the house we rented. I looked up and down the street at the various suburbans that were parked and pointed out my van was no wider than them. I was told the owner of the home we rented had complained and wanted it moved. I began to question how an owner of a home we had rented would know I had a van parked on the street at 10:30 on a Saturday night. I decided to move the van and we went on with out business. I did point out though we had received the wrong unit ( I was told they are never guaranteed even though it was) as well as pointed out the leak and the wifi. The next day at 1PM we were told we had to leave the house and they would work on finding us a new one. We were told we had too many people in the home. We had 12 people. In no way, shape, or form is there any note on any paperwork from Myrtlewood that says there is a maximum occupancy. The lady at the from desk told me that they will go as high as 10-11 but 12 was too many. I told her that a place can't do business like that simply picking and choosing arbitrary numbers based on nothing. She said the FIRE MARSHALL had complained we had too many people. Ha. After packing back up our belongings we did move. We had 6 adults in that house and 6 kids. It was quite a task to pack everything up again. When we left we figured out what the deal was. The owner has what we believe (in our opinion) to be a camera on their security panel on the kitchen wall and had been watching us. They also had a camera on the doorbell. In our opinion the owner simply didn't want us there because we had kids with us. We were moved to another home. On Thursday morning we noticed a 15 passenger van just like our parked a few homes down. The van stayed there for on and off for the rest of our stay. To be fair with this review we do not believe Myrtlewood caused us any of the issues that we had during our stay. We believe it was a meddling owner. I figure if someone is going to open their home for rental they should allow it to be rented and leave the renters alone as long as no damage is being done to their home. This was not the case with this home.

Looks great from the outside. Friendly staff, no cable tv's, dusty room with dirty walls. In regards to the non- working cable television, the only resolution the staff offered us free 2 DVD rentals per day. No thanks! This place could use a renovation.

The condos are clean, affordable and the location is ideal for everything in Myrtle Beach. The staff on Saturday, 3/31 was exemplary when we hit some minor issues. They were very customer-service oriented and remedied the situation immediately. This was our second year visiting. We will return!!

"Keeps us coming back for more!"

We have been visiting Myrtlewood for about 10 years now and it is our place of choice when coming down for our golf outing. It is centrally located - Broadway at the Beach is 10 min walk or 2 min car ride; the beach is a 5 min drive and North Myrtle is about 10 mins. The condos are all typically clean and well kept. This year we stayed in a house on the grounds and it was fantastic! Can't wait for next year!
