The place is easy to find with their signs and looks good from first impressions. They have two lanes in front of the Paradise building and Palmetto building to check in and unload. Depending on the time of day, it will be too busy to do either. John H and David the bellhops were very informative and helped with the check in process. Check in time is at 3 like it is for many resorts in the area so that is a really busy time. They had Valet which is nice but I couldn't tell if it helped with the traffic out front. There were cars in the street and some being told to come back later to check in. Check in was a nightmare... I've been to many resorts In the area but it seems like they are trained to keep people in front of the computers for as long as possible. There must be an easier way, I noticed the Breakers app but that wont help the check in process any faster. They have a desk to the left which is someone selling time share packages so beware of them. take the free welcome packet and dont engage in any further conversation, they just want to make money off or your uninformed impulse decisions that are usually irrivesable. The resort itself has many buildings on property with Paradise being the newest and best one from what I heard. I have talked to many people staying there, some year after year. the Palmetto elevators are really slow because it's mostly housekeepers being too lazy to ever use the stairs. The prices I paid for the room wasn't too crazy and the room was ok. the view was good, but if you are in a lower floor all you hear are the kids from the pools. I would recommend a higher floor in Paradise for a family vacation. Front desk seemed annoyed with any issues that ever came up. seems like a lot of temp workers but that is normal in the area. I liked the room but I will not be returning because the hectic traffic area in front and the rude slow moving front desk. Pools were good but no lifeguards walking around to straighten things up when the slide is open. Starbucks across the street with Ben and Jerry's is what saved the family's vacation! We mostly spent time on the beach anyways. plenty of chairs on the pools, a shaved Ice hut. they also had a DJ ice box?? He seemed to be one of the only employees on the entire property who enjoys their job. There was one and only one really nice lady at the front desk but I cant remember her name.. I would do research before staying here but it sure beats a lot of other hotels in the area.

When booking the room, the website made it look amazing. It definitely was not. Our room in the Dunes suite was disgusting. Our children had to sleep on a mattress that smelled like urine. The pools on the other side were filthy inside and out. We stayed at the pool located with the Dunes mini suites. It was the nicest part of the stay. The bathroom was scary to shower in. Part of the ceiling kept falling out. There is no where to put towels and no lid for the toilet so everything can fall in it. Picture of this resort are far beyond deceiving.

Great location and resort, love all the pools and daily entertainment. We have been coming to Breakers for many years due to the constant improvements in the resort and experience. Now that there are several entertainment locations nearby makes even better.

For over $200 a night, I expect a better maintained room. Started off with bathroom door not latching. The toilet plugged daily, but maintenance took long periods of time to get there. Finally tub flooded the main room. The maintenance and front desk staff were not polite, and seemed annoyed by complaints and questions. Housekeeping was amazing and they tried to make the experience better.

Our room in the Dunes building... was old and tired looking with mismatched furniture. Dead roach greeted us when we opened the door. old curtains and a stained chair. I actually had to PAY to stay there. Make sure you find out exactly what building your room is located in and ask for CURRENT pictures. I feel I was deceived. The location of the hotel was good for access to the board walk, restaurants and doing the tourist thing. Further exploration such as Calabash NC will require just a 20 minute drive and well worth it for some great sea food.
