"Our experience"
May, 2018
We went there for our anniversary. We really enjoyed ourselves. The brunch was delicious, the gentlemen cooking the eggs was fantastic, our server was out of this world- he was friendly, energic he didn't let us want for anything. When we arrived there was hardly anybody there (we got there around 9:15-9:30).We didn't leave until about 11:30-12:00. We were finished eating by 10:30 but we were enjoying ourselves so much that we stayed longer to enjoy the great Gospel group that was performing.
I forgot there name but it was on May 20th. They sang happy anniversary to us it was just a fantastic experience and a blessed way to start off your special day

"LORDY!"
February, 2018
Great, generous brunch with great glorious Gospel songs. The staff was friendly and efficient. Because of our own schedule, we arrived at 9 (opening time) and the crowd was sparse at that time but by the time we left 10:30-11, there was a pretty good crowd, all having a great time. The Gospel group who was performing had a slight lean to a jazz sound, and musicians were spot on. OH, and the building and the absolutely stunning Folk Art display is absolutely riveting. We studied each piece (good way to meet people as you look at the art on the wall of their booth)
Can't wait to go back.

"No energy!"
August, 2016
Our family has been to the New Orleans HB Gospel Brunch and it was wonderful, high energy and lively. I booked the Gospel Brunch based on our previous experience and was very disappointed! The music was fine but their was not energy in the room.....it wasn't lively at all. My husband said he almost fell asleep! Go to the Murder Mystery Dinner instead!

"very disappointed"
February, 2015
This was my third time visiting the House of Blues. I enjoyed it so much last year my husband and I decided we HAD to come again... however this will be the last time.. we made reservations a week in advance and was told we HAD to be there by 9:30 because of the crowd. When we arrived there were only 20 people. ( if that ) We were seated away from the entertainment in the atrium, where it was extremely cold! I asked the waitress about moving us to another seat and she assured me that I would warm up... I remained in my coat and gloves the entire time... did I mention the place was empty! Brunch was just ok.. It was not worth the $80.00 that was spent..

We took the family here while on a vacation; I was expecting typical lackluster chain restaurant food... I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. There were several gf options listed on the menu, and the server let me know that the roasted chicken and bbq meats would all work for me as well with a few modifications to the sides. I ended up getting the blackened salmon with no blackening spices, so it was plain grilled. I appreciated how nice the server was in trying to make suggestions and accommodate me. All in all it was a very good meal and I will def be trying others in my travels.

"Eat the HOB resturant before the concert - it is well worth it!!"

We ate at the restaurant before the concert having general admission seats. They let you in first - however, the biggest surprise was how excellent the food was! Our waiter, Nicholas, was epic. The place was extremely busy, but we felt like we were the only ones there with the service Nicholas gave us. I highly recommend the brisket sandwich (I am from Texas and this is the best one I have had). My only wish is that they sold the sauces - the Texas and Carolina were are favorites, but we would have bought all three. The manager came by and checked on us - very friendly - thank you Kayla! We don't get to MB often, but HOB will be first on our list. Thank you!

"Papa Roach, Blackberry Smoke & Breaking Benjamin?!?!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed July 12, 2018 NEW
So since Trip Advisor only lets you post once per month (or something like that) I'm lumping all my visits from April together. :) We went to see Papa Roach as our first concert at this venue. Luckily, the lady at the box office gave us the tip that if you go into the restaurant and order a certain amount of food/drinks, and you have a GA ticket, you can get into another GA line that moves a little quicker than the main one. Once we got in, we went to the top & stood behind one of the pews. This was a really great view, but with GA -you're standing the whole time. If you aren't big on standing, you might want to purchase a reserved seat. Which is what we did for Blackberry Smoke. We upgraded our GA tickets to reserved seating and weren't able to sit together, but we were within view (about 4 seats away) and could easily walk to each other to chat or whatever. This time we were on the left side of the venue if you are facing the stage. Next show was Breaking Benjamin. This show was awesome, however our seats were not. We upgraded to the VIP pit that is on the left side facing the stage. We were right by the staircase. This meant that we paid a large sum to have the VIP seats, but all the GA people stood on the staircase and blocked our views. I was quite disappointed that we paid for the VIP pit and had a crappy view. We have seats for another show coming up and they are in that same section, but in an area where I don't think anyone will be able to stand in front of me. I do hope that is the case. Anyway - HOB Myrtle Beach is a great venue and they have brought in quite a few good shows this year. One thing I do wish is that they would offer some sort of season pass or something like that. Either that, or let people who come alot buy a premium place in line to get tickets. We have tickets to 3 more shows this year, so it's a great place, or we wouldn't be going so often. :)

We had a good time at the Murder Mystery Theatre. It was something different and fun. Mostly couple and dinner was served as part of the show. If you are looking for a Night out and want to do something different give it a try. Dinner is just ok. We had chicken, squash and rice with dinner rolls.
