Great, generous brunch with great glorious Gospel songs. The staff was friendly and efficient. Because of our own schedule, we arrived at 9 (opening time) and the crowd was sparse at that time but by the time we left 10:30-11, there was a pretty good crowd, all having a great time. The Gospel group who was performing had a slight lean to a jazz sound, and musicians were spot on. OH, and the building and the absolutely stunning Folk Art display is absolutely riveting. We studied each piece (good way to meet people as you look at the art on the wall of their booth)
Can't wait to go back.

"No energy!"
August, 2016
Our family has been to the New Orleans HB Gospel Brunch and it was wonderful, high energy and lively. I booked the Gospel Brunch based on our previous experience and was very disappointed! The music was fine but their was not energy in the wasn't lively at all. My husband said he almost fell asleep! Go to the Murder Mystery Dinner instead!

"very disappointed"

This was my third time visiting the House of Blues. I enjoyed it so much last year my husband and I decided we HAD to come again... however this will be the last time.. we made reservations a week in advance and was told we HAD to be there by 9:30 because of the crowd. When we arrived there were only 20 people. ( if that ) We were seated away from the entertainment in the atrium, where it was extremely cold! I asked the waitress about moving us to another seat and she assured me that I would warm up... I remained in my coat and gloves the entire time... did I mention the place was empty! Brunch was just ok.. It was not worth the $80.00 that was spent..

"We saw a tribute to Fleetwood Mac at this location! Free parking! Great door security! Spacious venue!"

My mom got us some tickets to check out a Fleetwood Mac cover band at the House of Blues on a Saturday night! The entire place has plenty of free parking. They also have a outdoor stage to the right of the main door that had a lively man singing some Oldschool hits! We came up and security was like getting on a plane. Empty your pockets...casual pat down..and yep the wand too. All before you get inside to hand in your ticket. It is nice to see they are taking steps to keep everyone that attended safe! We walked in and this place has all kinds of things to look at including a multi-level venue facing a massive stage. Great familiar songs with a cool vibe. Thank you to all the employees of the House of Blues for keeping things running smoothly!

"Great food and music"

We had been to the HOB in New Orleans for the Gospel Brunch so we knew what to expect. This is a must do. Great food. Uplifting music. My 26 year old son was suffering from a hella hangover and really didn't want to come. When we walked out he said "I feel better now. Gospel music and good food fixes everything. " This is a great thing to come to if you're a senior citizen, middle aged, twenties, teen, younger kids, and even babies. Take everyone.

We went to the House of Blues on a Fruday night for supper. There were Families and couples there. The food was delicious. I had the Grilled Salmon with a Tomatoes and Cucumber Salad. The other prop,e in my party had the Shrimp Tacos and Cajun a Shrimp Pasta which they said was delicious. The Restaurant is decorated in Folk Art which was really I interesting. The service was great and priced reasonably well. Our selections were not the cheapest things on the menu but they were very tasty. Well worth a trip to.

"Avett Bros Concert"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

Great staff, super friendly and helpful. However, no recc at ticket purchase to avoid huge line at will call, huge line at general admission entrance, limited seating, poor video screens and poor sound quality that was unable to overcome a very drunk and talkative crowd that was forced to wait 45 minutes for the show to start.

"Avett Brothers Concert"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed March 18, 2018
My wife and I traveled to Myrtle Beach to see her favorite band The Avett Brothers, who played for 3 nights at The House Of Blues. Overall I would give the Concert staff, bartenders, and the organized effort for the concert high ratings. However, I would give the overall venue middle ratings. The Hall is small and once packed is very hard to get around. From what we attending the concert heard, the venue can hold about 1500, but the venue sells way more tickets then that. Seems like a fire hazard to be honest. Also, near where my wife and we’re standing was a small reserved area, called the “fantasy pit”. That area had no one in it all night, and that space could have been real helpful. The concert itself was fun and enjoyable, but I would not go see them at this venue again.
