"No energy!"
August, 2016
Our family has been to the New Orleans HB Gospel Brunch and it was wonderful, high energy and lively. I booked the Gospel Brunch based on our previous experience and was very disappointed! The music was fine but their was not energy in the room.....it wasn't lively at all. My husband said he almost fell asleep! Go to the Murder Mystery Dinner instead!

"very disappointed"
February, 2015
This was my third time visiting the House of Blues. I enjoyed it so much last year my husband and I decided we HAD to come again... however this will be the last time.. we made reservations a week in advance and was told we HAD to be there by 9:30 because of the crowd. When we arrived there were only 20 people. ( if that ) We were seated away from the entertainment in the atrium, where it was extremely cold! I asked the waitress about moving us to another seat and she assured me that I would warm up... I remained in my coat and gloves the entire time... did I mention the place was empty! Brunch was just ok.. It was not worth the $80.00 that was spent..
Tip: Go when it's warm so you can take off your coat and gloves!

"Good outdoor venue"

We went to see NTRANZ band advertised for Saturday night at 7:00pm in the outdoor area in the back. We have never been here before so we arrived at 6:30pm to get a good seat. There was plenty of seating, only two other tables and a handful of guys at the bar when we arrived. At 7:15, no music? We recognized a band member and waved him over around 7:30p, he said they were asked not to play until 8:00pm because there was a murder mystery dinner going on and the band would be too loud. I guess I can understand that but then they ought to schedule and advertise the band at the time the murder mystery ends. Seats were comfortable, we later moved to even more comfortable seats which were cushion and around a fire pit. Bam Bam was our waittress and she did an excellent job, very attentive and was always there when your drink needed to be freshened up. The band started playing at 8:00, plenty of room for dancing which is a big plus! We will definitely return to this venue. We did not have any food but the drinks were very good. My only complaint, was allowing children on the dance floor. Number one, the music is way too loud for the children and there are adults drinking adult beverages and dancing. One poor little girl had her hands over her ears then sat down on the dance floor. Her mother picked her up and danced holding her.

great food, great location, great music! See a concert or check out the free music on the back deck. Belly up to one of the most famous bars in the world, once owned by Al 'Scarface' Capone himself. We hit the breakfast buffet Saturday and it was rocking!

"A Bit Cramped and Stuffy at Murder Mystery Theater"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed April 29, 2017
While the food was good, and the performance was okay, the room used for the murder mystery theater is a bit cramped and stuffy. The air conditioning was not working properly, and people were obviously uncomfortable. Because the tables are placed so close together, you have trouble seeing what is going on as the murder victims are killed and removed from the scene.
