"Lots of Fun!"

Went to the Motown Review. Pretty nice for what it is. This is not Broadway, so don't expect that kind of show. Singers cover a lot of Motown classics via a track (no band) as well as other acts from back in the day. Cast is talented and personable. We sprung for 1st row seats. Very small "theater" (really a room with a stage), so no real bad seats, but in the front row they get up close and personal with you. Lots of fun! They encourage you to sing along and even dance if the mood hits you. Maybe a bit over priced (even for non-front row), but I didn't mind. People got to eat right (?) and it was a good two-hours of fun entertainment. I recommend you give it a go especially if you like the sounds of Motown.

My wife and I visit this place yo watch the Motown show. The performers put on a great show. The singing and dancing was great. One of the highlights of our trip. The entertainer picked some people out of the crowd to serve as the Pips for the female singer who sung midnight train to Georgia. They also give you an opportunity to take pictures with them after the show and chat with them.

"Tremendous Talent and Show; Venue Not As Impressive"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed November 10, 2018
We went to Myrtle for a long weekend and wanted to take in a show. The Motown Show was rated very highly in Trip Advisor so we booked it in advance of the trip. As we arrived at the venue, we wondered what we were in for. We arrived at 7:15pm for the 8pm show as the site said to be there to pick up tickets "by" 7:30pm. The theater is not on a main beach road and the parking lot is dark and sketchy. I went in by myself and the lady at the desk was pretty rude to me and others. She didn't seem to want to be there and told us it would be "at least" 7:45 before we could get tickets. I"ll put the rest of our experience in bullet points. **This is NOT a theater like you may expect to see in MB (Alabama, Carolina Opry, etc.). It is a small venue by the side of the road. **The lady was very unorganized and rude in the lobby, even yelling at people in line at a couple points. **The theater inside is very small and doesn't have theater seating, but stackable lunchroom type chairs. Not comfortable at all. **There talent (3 men/3 women) was very impressive. The show from the stage was very entertaining and made up for the lack of amenities. **The seating area is small with only about 10 or 12 rows of stackable chairs so everyone is pretty close to the stage. **They had a small old concession stand but announced "If you pay $6 for a soda, you would get a souvenir cup". My son took the deal and he got a canned soda and a souvenir cup the size of a kid's meal cup. (see photo) **Lighting in the parking lot was not great and we were nervous about getting out of the car when we first arrived. Overall, once we got into the venue and got over the surprises, the show was very entertaining. The talent was exceptional and made for a very entertaining evening. The song selections were terrific (sang A LOT of Motown) and they engaged the small crowd often which was entertaining also.

This venue is not like any other in the area. It is intimate and audience friendly. The music is Motown (our favorite) and dancing is welcomed! The performers are like your best friends! The energy is contagious, and you'll find yourself knowing everybody before you leave. Be sure to grab a ticket and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed!!
