The 12th Annual Beach Boogie & BBQ Festival in Myrtle Beach is scheduled for Friday, September 1 and Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Conference Center near Market Common. The family-friendly festival will feature live entertainment, a kid’s zone, car show, beer gardens, arts/crafts vendors, and delicious barbeque.
Did you know The Beach Boogie and BBQ Festival is an Official BBQ Championship of South Carolina sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS)? The competition boasts over $8,600 in cash and prizes up for grabs by 25+ BBQ teams competing for points and lots of bragging rights! The festival will also host ‘250KCBS’ Meals Mission once again, where participants will be donating around 30 cooked pork butts to a local food kitchen.
Schedule of Events
On Friday, September 1st, from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, the official Wing Competition and Tasting will take place. In addition, guests can enjoy a Beer Garden, live entertainment on the Main Stage, as well as food and arts and crafts.
On Saturday, September 2nd, the festival will begin at noon and last until 6:00 pm. Activities for this day include:
- 2nd Annual BBQ Derby
- Kansas City Barbecue Society BBQ Competition
- Corn Hole Competition – Hosted by Coastal Tailgating.
- Myrtle Beach Car Club Car Show Beer Garden
- Live Entertainment on the Main Stage

Free Event Admission
While guests were required to purchase admission to the Beach Boogie & BBQ Festival in years past, this year is completely free! In addition, guests may park for free throughout the Market Common area and HGTC campus buildings along Pampas Avenue. As always, parking is on a first come, first served basis.
